The first movie to reach this milestone was “Pathaan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, which had 1.08 million ticket sales on its opening day. With more than 20 hours till its premiere, “Jawan” has impressively sold over one million tickets. It’s on course to maybe break the previous Bollywood record for the greatest opening-day pre-sales.
A more conservative prediction is made by Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd, who predicts that the movie would earn 65 crore at the box office on its first day in all of India. He anticipates the weekend’s earnings to be in the neighborhood of 230 crore based on PVR INOX ticket sales.
