The victim claims that the robbers were in police gear and were traveling in a white sedan.
KARACHI: Near the Kakar Hotel on Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar, Karachi, a Turkish national was robbed of around Rs. 1.5 million and Turkish liras. The crime was reported to the Preedy police by the victim, Tekin Maitan.
Maitan told the police that he is employed by D Baloch Company and that he had traveled from Hyderabad to Karachi. Maitan claimed that he was driving to a money changer with a bag holding Rs. 1.5 million, 2,150 Turkish liras, and other critical documents when a white car suddenly stopped in front of his car.
The car’s passengers all wore police uniforms. They questioned him about his identification and the reason he was there. The victims produced his passport, which they examined and handed back. They then inquired as to who owned the car. He informed them that this vehicle belongs to his business. Later, the suspects stole his bag containing cash and papers and fled in their car. Tekin Maitan claimed he attempted to stop them by grasping the wheel of their vehicle, but they managed to get away.
The incident has been reported to the Preedy police, who have opened an investigation.

The four unnamed criminals, who held up builder Raheel Abdul Ghaffar with a gun and demanded a sizeable sum of money, then fled the area under the jurisdiction of Bahadurabad police station, according to the police.
According to the victim’s statement to the police, he lives in Defence Phase IV and operates a business in Bahadurabad called OK Estate & Builder. He described the incident in detail, saying that on Tuesday, March 1, at around 11:00 p.m., he and his driver were in their car when it was stopped by two suspects traveling in a car near a supermarket and bakery in Bahadurabad.
