In the upcoming weeks, more users will be able to access the feature after it has been rolled out to WhatsApp Business for Android beta testers.
WaBetaInfo revealed that the popular messaging app WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta and used by millions of people worldwide, is adding a useful function for companies.
Businesses using WhatsApp will be able to share prior status changes with their clients using the new “status archive” feature, claims the app-tracking website.
In the upcoming weeks, more users will be able to access this service, which is now being given out to WhatsApp Business for Android beta testers.
Although WhatsApp plans to redesign the app, it is also working to enhance the current functionality. The status updates of businesses will be archived using this feature after 24 hours.
When this function is activated on your WhatsApp account, a banner will appear on the Status tab to let you know.
Additionally, you may access your archive straight from the Status tab menu and modify your archive preferences there. Keep in mind that the archive is always private, meaning that only the company can view its historical status changes, added the WhatsApp observer.
Businesses would find this feature useful because it would allow them to communicate with customers as often as they like by sharing the same status from their archives.
WaBetaInfo noted, “These status updates will be kept on the device for up to 30 days: they will still be able to create Facebook and Instagram advertisements or share the status updates until they expire in the archive.”
This tool seems to be exclusively intended for businesses, not for individual WhatsApp Messenger users.
