The privacy checkup function for WhatsApp is now available for iOS users to review their privacy settings.
WaBetaInfo revealed that WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is currently introducing a new privacy feature to its user base.
The app tracking website claims that WhatsApp is introducing a privacy checkup option to verify iOS users’ privacy settings.
The new “privacy checkup” upgrade is currently only accessible to a small number of beta testers and will be made available to additional users in the upcoming weeks.
Users will be able to easily evaluate their privacy settings by checking their account privacy settings with this functionality. People who update their iOS devices to version 23.9.0.73 may be able to view the new banner directly in their privacy settings.
You can use this function if you can see the new banner, which indicates that you have access to it. The app-tracking website stated that “this section gives users a detailed overview and they can manage different settings.”
Users may manage their blocked contacts as well as choose who they wish to add to groups. Additionally, they can control who has access to their personal WhatsApp information, including their profile photo, last seen and online status, and your about the text.
In order to add another degree of privacy and protection to your account, you can also enable disappearing messages and end-to-end encrypted backups, according to the statement.
Since this is just an extra feature to quickly review their privacy settings, users who cannot access this feature still have control over their privacy. They can also be seen by hand.
