Skills & Experience

  • A degree or diploma (Graphic Design)
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a marketing, web development or creative agency environment
  • Professional level use of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe XD/Figma, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and more
  • Ability to remain solutions-focused and positive during times of urgency

Job Title: Senior Graphic Designer

Location: Toronto, Canada

Job Type: Hybrid, Full Time

Our SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER is an individual who can multi-task effectively and work well within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment at an advanced level. The incumbent must demonstrate a bold, innovative, and international sense of design. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment as a creative leader within the Marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design direction and production for all campaigns and collateral across all Drake properties including but not limited to print (menus, posters, signage), online (email marketing, digital ads and other online assets).
  • Working at a collaborative level with the Director of Marketing + Brand to manage daily, weekly, and long-term project deadlines for all internal requests.
  • Manage freelancer graphic designer relations from design brief to production.
  • Own and manage printing budget, with an eye to production expense control and management, with a balance of using internal resources and outsourced resources to complete projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years professional creative design and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML and print processes is required.
  • Advanced HTML/CSS, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, motion graphics/animation, photography and illustration skills are an asset.
  • Experience in developing and updating websites.
  • Experience with, and demonstrated knowledge of, interior design concepts, trends and leading firms.
  • Acute awareness of international design blogs, movements and trends, both relating to graphics and interiors.

You’ll join a passionate team of globetrotting marketers and work together to inspire people to discover far-flung destinations around the world. Working cooperatively with others on the Marketing team you’ll get to bring your creative vision to a wide array of web and social media assets, and also get to flex your print muscle with our quarterly magazine Globetrotting. We are also making a growing investment in video, where you’ll get to practice some basic editing for a variety of short-form projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and producing digital assets that could include website content, social media assets, display ads, and promotional pieces
  • Designing and producing print assets, including the quarterly Globetrotting magazine, and a small collection of brochures
  • Applying basic editing techniques to create short-form videos, in collaboration with the Creative Marketing Manager and Head of Content
  • Completing miscellaneous graphics production tasks, adhering to templates with minimal direction

What We’re Looking For

Must have skills and experience

  • Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a designer
  • Diploma or certificate in a related graphic design discipline
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, In-Design and Illustrator, and basic knowledge of Premier Pro and After Effects
  • Strong eye for detail in design and ability to source images in compliance with brand standards
