Job description:
Knowledge Services is looking for a remote project manager for IT for a period of six months, with the possibility of an extension. While practically all work for this position may be done online, candidates must reside in the Indianapolis, IN area in order to meet sporadic requests to work in person at meetings.
IT Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop projects from planning through closing.
- Responsible for ensuring work is performed within scope and is consistent with requirements and standards.
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options on how to progress.
- Provide solutions to improve efficiency.
- Provide effective status reports and consistent communication.
- Perform day-to-day management of project teams, identify issues and risks, and recommend possible issue and risk mitigation strategies.
- Create long- and short-term plans, adhere to deadlines, and allocate resources.
- Delegate tasks to resources best positioned for completion.
- Adjust schedules and targets as needed.
- Motivate people involved to follow standards and complete tasks on time.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in project management of application development related projects
- Experienced with Jira
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience working and communicating with leadership and skilled technical staff.
- Strong understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to interact, communicate with, and build relationships with team members with diverse backgrounds, knowledge, and experience.
- Ability to multitask and manage various projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- PMP certification
